My posting about kid's clothing resumes. Today I'm talking about Ralph Lauren and of course, his children's clothing do not disappoint. In fact, I have yet to come across anything in his kid's line that I haven't loved or at least didn't dislike. I can't say that for the women or even the men though because sometimes his women's and men's lines have had me wondering if he's lost his touch. He's on point for Spring/Summer 2011 and as usual, I am lusting for it all. Here are my top picks:
Ralph Lauren does rompers. I LOVE this. It's casual and comfortable but still very put together. I love buying from the kid's department, however, I highly suggest that you always try on before you buy, considering children's clothing is cut very differently from women's. I haven't tried this romper on yet, but it's going to be my guess that it's not meant for my 5'6" self.
But if good ol' Ralph made this for my 5'6" self, I can assure you that this red number would be on my frame for July 4, 2011. Red and blue and add white Jacks and you're a vision in America's colors. If you wanted to get really fancy, I could picture some madras espadrilles... I just happen to own the perfect Tommy Hilfiger pair.
This is going into Summer Wind's bathing suit collection. I know, I know, you may think that a bathing suit is the last thing you'd buy in the children's section but I already own 2 RL Kid's bathing suits and I love 'em. This is the cutest one I've seen in a while, and it will be perfect for bronzing on the dock down in Georgia. Not to mention, it will fit right in over at the country club... Let's just hope I don't sport it on the same day that the other six-year-olds wear theirs. (I think this may be the only time I am happy that I barely have a chest, it makes for some very inexpensive bathing suit shopping- this beauty is only $50!)
Remember my post on how much I love gingham? Well it looks like Ralph does too... He also has quite the taste in grosgrain belts. This one is stitched with green turtles!
This is a little on the pricey end for children's clothing, but who can resist a good blazer! I envision this with white skinny jeans and white tank.
I had several grown-up moments while browsing Ralph Lauren. Unfortunately, they were very expensive grown-up moments. This perfect little shirt dress would get so much wear and be amazing for any occasion, however, I now understand the saying "champagne tastes and a beer budget" because for $800, this shirt dress will have to stay out of my closet. Plus, I am not a fan of the belt-- However, when in WWSWD mode (that's What Would Summer Wind Do) I would add a colorful silk sash or a skinny, brown, braided belt around the waist in the ugly belts place! I've been meaning to add a metallic dress to my collection... not really, but after seeing this, it's now on my list.
Last, but most definitely not least, I end the post with a little bit of sophistication. For only $188, this classic LBD can be yours and finally, I can be assured that my 5'6" will be able to sport this without getting strange looks. What are you lusting over in the land of prep that is Ralph Lauren?
