Since Ed Sheeran joined Taylor Swift on her Red tour and he's rumored to be dating her every five minutes, Ed's now getting serious about shooting down any rumors of a hookup.
That doesn't mean that he isn't completely flattered to be linked to Taylor, but he assures nothing is going on.
Ed set the record straight in a recent interview with New Zealand TV, after much buzz that he and Taylor got cozy in a hotel room together.
True enough, they did hang in a hotel room, with Ed explaining, "I did go to her hotel, I did stay there 'til four and I did leave in the same clothes. But I was playing her my new record. It was strictly that kind of thing. Literally, I went in there and we passed the guitar back and forth and played songs to each other."
Doesn't sound like anything romantic was going on, that's for sure.
Ed assured, "I'm a professional...The thing that impressed me with the media is that because they wrote about it, my mates believed it. And my mates are texting me being like 'Is it true?' so I said it wasn't, but the fact that people can believe it makes me feel like a bit of a stud, you know?"
Here's where Ed honors the bro code (a gentleman, that Ed is), saying, "I've got to be honest because one of my best friends did date her. I'm not that kind of guy."
Still, he added, the whole rumor was flattering: "But the fact that people believed it impressed me a little bit."
Meanwhile, looks like Ed fell down during his gig opening for Taylor last night...oopsie!
