Cheryl Cole goes for an eighties-inspired look as she enjoys a girly night out at Coldplay gig

She's made a name for herself as something of a fashion icon over the years, despite a few questionable choices.

But last night it seems Cheryl Cole decided to channel a different fashionista, as she explored a previous decade in an eighties-inspired outfit for Coldplay's Los Angeles gig last night.

Cheryl opted for tied back hair, a patterned T-shirt, black zip up jacket and white nail varnish as she posed in the picture posted to Twitter by her PA Lily England.

She also appeared to be wearing her L'Oreal Red Passion lipstick, launched last month to raise money for The Prince's Trust.

Later, Cheryl wrote on her Twitter page: 'S*********t !! Just watched Coldplay at the Nokia club ! They're on FIRE ! .. #legends.'

Coldplay were performing as part of the iHeartRadio Benefit Concert.

Cheryl has been in Los Angeles for the past couple of weeks, but has been keeping a relatively low profile during her time Stateside.

The former Girls Aloud singer is working hard on her second solo album, spending most of her time in the studio instead of out and about.

Cheryl has had a difficult few weeks following MC Harvey's claims that they had a 'secret romance'.

Last week Cheryl angrily hit back at the allegations, confronting Harvey over Twitter, writing: 'Was this "relationship" happening in your head @harveyofficial?!

Are you smoking something?'

'@harveyofficial I think I've met you once maybe twice at public events and With your wife!! #s**tjustgetsweirder.'

Harvey responded: 'Do you actually want me to tweet some of the messages you emailed me @cherylcole pipe down and stop playing the saint in front of your fans.

Cheryl later tweeted: 'I don't know when I became so naïve but even after 10 yrs in this industry I am still shocked that people will tell soul destroying lies to benefit themselves #sadbuttrue.'

However, Harvey spoke to Max on Choice FM's breakfast show earlier this week, and suggested that his side of the story had been fabricated.

'I will 100 per cent say that we had a communication relationship, but have I been out with her? No I haven't,' he said when asked about their relationship.
