Nick Jonas can relate to what Zayn Malik is going through - maybe not exactly on the same scale, but he's definitely been in the same boat of making the decision to quit a famous boy band.
It still stings a bit to think of Nick's departure from the Jonas Brothers, but time heals all wounds and all the JoBros are doing okay, so we're hoping the One Direction shakeup of the band continuing as 4/4 and Zayn making a solo name for himself will become the new normal soon.
Nick told Entertainment Tonight that he totally understands what Zayn's gone through - and what the fans are feeling too, explaining, "It's a lot of pressure. I think that my situation was a little unique. I had family with me, and I feel like it is a tough world already, and I was thankful to have family and walk through it with them."
He added, "But it's all about how you balance it, and trying to implement a few moments of normalcy and quietness in a really crazy ride. I feel for their fans, and totally understand him as well, and what he's going through, but all the best to all of them."
Nick also told E! News : "It's always tough. You know, there's never an easy time to make a decision like that. I commend him for doing what he feels is right for him and you got to stay true to yourself."
Earlier this week, after the band announced Zayn was leaving, Nick tweeted: "Sometimes you have to make hard choices in order to find your true happiness."
True enough, Nick.
